You've made it to EWrestlingAlliance.com! Now what?
Welcome to the EWA, one of the longest running E-feds in internet history.
What is the EWA?
The E-Wrestling Alliance is a roleplay based league, meaning that the success of your character is dependent upon the quality of your roleplays. Roleplays are "day in the life" stories that are written by you and posted to the "roleplay board." These can be promotional speeches, direct talks to your opponent, narratives of your characters exploits, etc. These are only examples, but they are essentially the heart and blood of this federation; if you don't roleplay, you will have limited success in this federation.
Here in the EWA, creativity is encouraged. However, we only allow REAL wrestlers to be a part of our roster. Whether it's a WWE/AEW/Impact Wrestling wrestler or a Independent up and comer, it's up to you. Sorry, no created characters.
In the EWA, character development is key. When you are selecting a (real-life) character to play here, try and be creative with it. Many of our top characters over the years are ones who you would perhaps not expect to be portrayed as brilliant on television. Val Venis, Steve Blackman, René Duprée, Paul Burchill and countless others are all former holders of our most prestigious championship. Not because we felt sorry for the characters they had chosen, but because they were damn good at the character they played! All of these characters weren't very interesting in real life, but under the guidance of good handlers, became compelling characters here in the EWA. This makes for greatly absorbing roleplays.
By all means, we are not discouraging you from playing characters in the way they are portrayed on television. But it's about how well you can tell a story. If you can use a character in a similar way to their real personality, then do so. Some of the top tier talent here have played characters such as CM Punk, The Rock and Cody Rhodes, brilliantly close to the way in which you see them on television today. It's about engrossing your audience as much as it is being creative.
To be an accepted member of the E-Wrestling Alliance, you must be three things:
Dedicated
Adaptable
Creative

How long has the EWA been around?
Over 20 years. Check the archives to see our weekly broadcasts dating all the way back to 2003. Unfortunately a few of the very early years have been lost, due to changing servers, and we're still transferring across shows from our older board, but you can still read our massive archive of shows here. You may also want to check out the detailed EWA Title Histories and Major Event Winners, which gives you a breakdown of all the major happenings in company history.
Why the EWA?
As you may have noticed already, the EWA is slightly different from any other E-fed. The basics still apply - such as roleplaying to win a specific match on a specific show - but there are a few tweaks that make this place truly unique.
The EWA prides itself in offering more than your run of the mill E-fed in 2022. There is so much here to keep you entertained and motivated. How many E-feds can you name that have the following...?
Well-Written Shows. We have one weekly show here in the EWA called Sunday Night SLAM!, as well as a monthly Super-Card. Every show is put together exquisitely by GM Harry Smith - known as "Newt" to members - who is a former multiple time EWA champion in his own right. Shows are posted on time and are always filled with entertaining segments put together by EWA members, as well as entertaining matches written by the boss himself. If you want quality, then this is the place for you.
Strong Out-of-Character Community. Need a break from roleplaying? Step into the EWA OOC forum, where you can share your thoughts on topics such as real-life wrestling, television and films, or anything else that may apply to you. On OOC, we are a friendly bunch... so long as you are competent!
Quality Graphics. All you have to do is look around you to see the immense quality of our graphics team. Every monthly event has its own beautiful poster, and every Sunday Night SLAM! comes complete with very aesthetically pleasing match-graphics which could rival real-life promotions such as WWE or AEW. Once you distinguish yourself as a committed member of the EWA, our strong graphics team will be more than likely to set you up with a customised banner for your character, which will make your roleplays look very distinguished indeed.
Consistency. The EWA has been running strong for over twenty years. Think about that for a second. Most E-feds go belly up within their first month. The next largest group of feds never last beyond the one year mark. We are in our 21st year of operation. You could apply here and get in on the action now, or you could go somewhere else, then when that fed dies in a year, guess what? We'll still be here. The E-Wrestling Alliance is likely the single most consistent fed most people have ever been a part of.
What titles are in the EWA?
There are five championships you may compete for and they are:
The World Heavyweight Championship - Comprised of a variety of prestigious singles championships that have been unified, the World Heavyweight Championship was formed after various other singles titles (including the original EWA World Title) were all rolled into one. Very few men have earned the right to call themselves this.
The National Championship - The path to becoming World Heavyweight Champion often starts at the National Title, which is our "second tier" title belt. It has a honorable history and is often the most fiercely competitive division in the EWA. Consider this like the Intercontinental Championship, only like, worth something.
The World Tag Team Championships - Team up with another player or handle two characters yourself and attempt to become the dominant duo of the EWA. In our twenty-one year history, the tag ranks have spiked up and down, but one thing has always remained consistent... In order to wear these belts, you must be a fantastic roleplayer and constantly creative.
The Women's Championship - This is a Championship which has been in and out of the EWA over the years, but is currently the crown jewel of the women's division. Sign up as a female superstar and see if you too can put your name in the history books as well.
The Television Championship - Reinstated at the start of 2020, the TV Championship generally gets defended on a far more frequent basis than the other titles in the EWA. It also holds the distinction of coming with a 1000 word RP limit as well, while there is no limit for any of our other championships.
What's the difference between an RP and a segment?
RPs are roleplays that you post on the RP board. These generally take place OUTSIDE of the arena. They can be training, at the hotel, or anywhere else you want aside from anything that would be broadcast on SLAM! So you wouldn't do an RP where you come out to the ring during the show, that's for segments. You must RP to win matches. Check out the SLAM!, EWA USA and PPV pages to find out the RP guidelines for each individual event, as they vary and are subject to change.
Segments take place DURING the actual TV or PPV broadcast. These can range from backstage interviews, small hype videos, or even a face-to-face confrontation (with the collaboration of whoever you're confronting, obviously). Segments won't win you matches, but they will help in defining your overall "push" within the company. Submit segments only when you have something to say or a story to tell. TV time is precious, don't abuse it.
How do I know when to RP for a match?
As soon as you're officially booked for SLAM! or a Pay-Per-View, you may begin RPing. You can also post a CD (character development) roleplay at any time. These are used to help flesh out your character and storylines. Those who do CDs will often receive a free "squash" match on our EWA USA broadcast as a bonus for being active.
PPV matches are typically assigned a couple of weeks in advance, and listed on the "PPV" page. More often than not, our schedule will see a PPV on the last Sunday of each month.
Why must I fill out a profile?
Each handler is required to fill out a profile for his or her wrestler/s before joining the EWA. This will be posted in the profiles section of the EWA site. The reason for this section is to inform other wrestlers about your character. Many E-feds just assume that you take on all past incarnations of your wrestler, but in the EWA we allow you to explain your background in-depth so that everyone is familiar with your character. Please don't copy and paste a generic wrestler bio, but take your wrestler and make him your own.
How do I get started?
Send in an application! We accept anybody who shows they have an acceptable grasp of the English language. Grammar and punctuation is also important. TheEWA welcomes RPers of all skill levels, so if you're new to the game, don't be afraid to apply. What we're looking for is someone who's willing to learn and adaptable to the rigors of E-feds. Use our roster to help you come up with a character. Be sure to check the Roster Page and Hall of Fame to make sure your character isn't already taken or off limits because he/she is in the Hall of Fame.
From there, write a biography for your character(s) that you think will interest the EWA bigwigs enough to feature you on shows. Not just the generic height, weight, hometown of your wrestler, but also a biography. The more creative you are, the more you're likely to get noticed. You can always alter this at a later time. Applications are usually accepted/denied within 24 hours of posting.
Once approved feel free to introduce yourself and read some of our shows and roleplays to help you get acquainted with the E-fed. You will notice that all of our shows play out just like a real wrestling television show; matches, segments and promotions! This is where you begin developing your character. Send in a segment to the SLAM account (for Sunday Night SLAM!), the EWA USA account (for EWA USA) or the EWA Official account (for PPVs) in order to get your character in the public eye. Then you will be able to book your own matches in the Feedback/Booking threads in the Out of Character forum, which appear after every show.
So what are you waiting for? Get applying, and become a member of the E-Wrestling Alliance today!
