This Sunday on pay-per-view, EWA presents it's annual All Hallows Evil event from a historic location. For the first time ever professional wrestling will take place inside the Stanley Hotel Ballroom in Estes Park, Colorado. The Stanley Hotel is considered one of the most haunted places in the country and it was the inspiration for horror novelist Stephen King's The Shining.
"We've had tons of visitors and tourists through the years, but we never thought we would have a chance to host pro-wrestling," said Delbert Grady, hotel management. "Sometimes human places, create inhuman monsters."
The hotel in King’s book is named The Overlook. Other than sporting a different name, it’s practically a twin of the real-life Stanley Hotel. King spent one night in the hotel in October 1974 and was compelled to write about the haunting experience through his unique fictional lens.
"EWA has had a lot of unique venues, but perhaps none quite like this," said the EWA Owner Harry Smith about this special event. "It's required some special permits and it's not going to hold tens of thousands like a normal arena, but I think the ambiance will make this a night to remember."
The caretakers at the Stanley Hotel have been preparing the ballroom for months, adding in additional balcony seating and clearing other accommodations to provide as many places as possible to situate fans. Several thousand fans are expected to pack into the intimate setting and enjoy the one-of-a-kind show. Whether those in attendance may hear some of the mysterious voices, noises or experience any of the sightings in Room 217 will remain to be seen. One thing is for certain though, anyone in attendance or watching at home will have an up close encounter with the best professional wrestling around.
