Matt Cardona to face Christopher Daniels at PPV

Earlier this week we learned that the EWA World Champion, Cody Rhodes, would appear at this Sunday's pay-per-view to serve as a guest referee for the King of the Ring finals. Not to be outdone, the EWA National Champion demanded he get to appear on the broadcast as well. EWA officials and Cardona agreed to a special challenge match featuring veteran wrestler but newcomer to the EWA, Christopher Daniels, in a non-title showdown.

"When I saw the announcement that Cody Rhodes was going to be the special guest referee for the King of the Ring finals I thought to myself 'some World Champion, he can't even be bothered to defend his title on the show!' so, being the selfless person that I am, I decided to step up to the plate and show the people what a real champion looks like," Said Cardona.

"I called up Christian Cage and I said 'put me in coach, I'm ready to play!' and now, some lucky SOB gets the chance to step into the ring with the greatest National Champion of all time, non-title of course, and the only EWA Superstar to remain undefeated in 2023, The Major Player himself, Matt Cardona. At King of the Ring, I'm going to show why I'm all of those things when I add another 'W' to my record!"
