After much speculation, we can now confirm that "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes will be in attendance at King and Queen of the Ring to Referee the finals of the King of the Ring tournament. Rhodes will get an up close view of his potential World Championship challenger this Sunday. Roman Reigns, Eddie Kingston, Jeremy Wyatt, Wardlow and Colby Corino currently remain in the King of the Ring tournament and two men will advance to the finals where Rhodes will officiate.
"I plan on calling it down the middle, I have no favorites or axes to grind," said the EWA World Champion when asked about this opportunity. "To me it's all about raising the level of competition and adding prestige to the tournament. I wish them all good luck and look forward to seeing them in the finals."
King and Queen of the Ring takes place this SUNDAY live from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey and will see both tournaments culminate. Last year's King of the Ring, Sefa Fatu, went on to dominate 2023 where he won the EWA World Championship and held it for the better part of a year. The crown has historically brought with it much glory. This is the first time since 2021 that the Queen of the Ring tournament has returned.
