Welcome, to the latest edition of the EWA Top 5!
A list highlighting the great work being done across the E-Wrestling Alliance, pulling together the top 5 individuals, tag-teams, or stables who we think have had a big impact over the past two weeks.
Number 5: Isis, the Amazon
Since joining the EWA Isis, the Amazon, has been one to watch.
A dominator in the ring and one of the most intimidating forces outside of it. Isis continued to stake her claim in the landscape of the women's division over these past two weeks by beating Ruby Soho and then going out to the ring and costing the makeshift team of Stratton & Asuka their match in the Molly Holly-Helms Cup.
Number 4: Alpha Academy
The Alpha Academy may not have won both of their matches over SLAM and USA, but a win over the Usos should be lauded regardless.
If Doink/Omega had competed at USA then this spot may have been more of a straight shoot-out between the two teams, but AA edged in front through repeated competitive matches live on both shows.
The Alpha Academy may not be involved in the tag title picture at Motor City Mayhem, but if they keep stepping into the ring they are sure to be taken notice of sooner rather than later.
Number 3: The Red Wedding
Ever since the announcement of the Molly Holly-Helms Cup the introduction of The Red Wedding has been one of the more intriguing aspects of our shows.
The duo of Su Yung and Rosemary are an unholy union of two great women's wrestlers. With their ticket firmly booked in for the final of the tournament, Insurexxxtion will surely need to be at their best to take down the dominating duo.
Number 2: Dominik Mysertio
Dominik Mysterio has his victory over Chris Jericho!
A feat that so few can claim to have achieved. Sure, Mysterio may have had a hand in costing Slays & Takano their chance at progressing to the finals of the Molly Holly-Helms Cup, but I'm sure that he won't let that dampen his other exploits over the past two weeks.
Sure, he may have beaten Jericho by "Autograph" (who ever thought we'd seen another one of those?), but a win is still a win in our books! Advantage Mysterio.
Number 1: The Fiend
It's not every day that someone comes back from the dead in the EWA.
This brutal and supernatural feud between The Fiend (Bray Wyatt) and Darby Allin has already been well documented in previous EWA Top 5's, but this past cycle has seen everything be taken up a notch. The Fiend's return and subsequent attack on Darby Allin must have propelled this feud into a 2023 "Feud of the Year" contender.
Even with the history between these two, it looks like things could go one step further at Motor City Mayhem and continue to heat up...get it? When these two face each other inside a searing INFERNO MATCH. This is the Fiend's first time in the EWA Top 5, but if he can beat Darby Allin then I doubt it will be the last.
