This past week on Sunday Night SLAM, Molly Holly-Helms returned to the EWA to announce the first annual women's tag team tournament, the Molly Holly-Helms Cup. On that broadcast the very first match was announced, as Insurexxxtion's Cora Jade and Gigi Dolin are set to do battle with Stephy Slays and Tam Nakano on the May 14th episode of SLAM from El Paso, Texas. Those two teams have been feuding for weeks now. With the first bout set, it did not take long for two other teams to sign up to fill the remaining tournament slots. The first team to join the fray is the unique team of Su Yung and Rosemary. Both women have competed in the EWA previously and were dangerous in singles competition, but will now team up to create a formidable duo. While that duo may be "strange bedfellows," the final team entry is even more diametrically opposed. Both Tiffany Stratton and Asuka applied for the final spot at the same time. Barging into the EWA offices and demanding representation. Stratton looking to team with Aliyah, and Asuka teaming with Kairi Sane. The two women squabbled over just who was there to sign up for the spot first, and given that only Stratton and Asuka were present, EWA Commissioner Christian Cage made the unenviable decision to "split the difference" and put Asuka and Stratton into the Molly Holly-Helms Cup TOGETHER as a team! The match pitting Asuka/Stratton against Yung/Rosemary will take place on May 20th on EWA USA. This means that the tournament brackets are set and the inaugural Molly Holly-Helms Cup is sure to be action packed, controversial, and there is potential for explosive rivalries not only within the tournament but even amongst the teams themselves! Who will make history? Who will become the first ever Molly Holly-Helms Cup winners? Find out May 28th at Motor City Mayhem!
