Super Brawl XVIII Yes, once again it's time for SuperBrawl. This is the 18th year we've done SuperBrawl! All the titles are up for grabs on this night of teamwork and chaos. Championships hang in the balance while legacies are forged in the fire of competition. Will we see returns? Old faces? New faces? It's the one time of the year where anything could happen in the EWA and only the strongest and the luckiest survive. This year's captains are the EWA World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar who since returning earlier this year, has rampaged the locker room leaving a path of destruction in his wake. Lesnar managed to do the unthinkable and get the EWA fans behind him, only to later turn his back on them and the EWA as a whole in an effort to derail his enemies. The second captain is none other than the National Champion himself, Chris Sabin! Although he's only been in the EWA a short time, has proven to be one of the breakout performers of the year, hoping to raise the National Champion's status within the company. Sabin has also been the target of a variety of brutal assaults, but has managed to outlast all his attackers and retain his gold. The third captain is Ken Shamrock, a grizzled veteran who has overcame the odds more than once and had quite an undefeated streak earlier in the year. His rivalry with Brock Lesnar has reached a violent and wild peak, with both men eager to tear one another up. The big question remains if Shamrock will be in any condition to compete in the SuperBrawl match itself. The final captain is John Cena, who was briefly announced as a captain LAST YEAR, before injury put him out. Cena wasn't able to make the draft last year and as a result his team never got off to a start. This year he's battled back from injuries and looks to right the wrong that happened last go around. SuperBrawl is the match where history is made, legacies are written and the future is shaped... The Basics of Super Brawl XVIIIEach team will have 4 men. One person from each team is in the ring at any given time, and eliminations come via pin fall or submission. When someone is eliminated, the next person from his team enters to replace him. When all 4 members of one team have been eliminated, that team is out. The match ends when all but one team has been eliminated, and the winning team's members will win the World Championship, the National Championship and the World Tag Team Championships. The alternates (should they not be selected to replace a member) will be placed in a four way match where the winner will receive a shot at the EWA National Champion (at a later date), while all other men will just walk away empty handed. It should be noted that, although the Captains are by default put into the running for the World Championship, captains can choose, should they want to go after another belt. As an example, since Chris Sabin could, in theory, choose to "defend" the National belt and draft someone else for the World Championship spot. That will be decided the night of the event, for now we will assume that people will be drafted into the default spots. In the match itself, people can enter in at any point, though typically captains enter last. It's not necessarily required. Captains will assign their own team order as they see fit. As advantage heading into Super Brawl as the World Champion, Brock Lesnar receives first pick and a random draw was made to determine the order in which the remaining Captains would be able to make their picks. That order is: 1) Brock Lesnar2) Chris Sabin3) Ken Shamrock4) John CenaStarting with their first pick, each Captain will reveal their chosen team-mate until the first round of selections is over. Then, in that same order, each Captain will next announce their next pick as a single selection, this will continue until each Captain has selected the final member of their team. Then finally, we come to the last round of the draft, as each Captain will announce an "alternate". This means a total of five names will be drafted, with 4 competing in the event and the 5th as an alternate. Captains will reserve a potential substitute into the team for another member at any team and at the Captain's discretion. Alternates don't have to be in the Super Brawl match itself, if everyone feels that their four members will be ready, willing and able to complete the Super Brawl task. However, the alternates are there in case someone dies between now and Super Brawl, or if a Captain just doesn't feel that one of their teammates is pulling his weight. The EWA World Tag Team Champions MUST be drafted. So if by the time we get to 3 members on 2 teams, the 3rd team will automatically be forced to have the EWA World Tag Team Champions become members of that team, rounding out the selections. Other teams may select individual people to represent the tag team element of the match and may only draft two people as a single selection if they draft an already established team, IE: Party Time. If for some reason you wanted one member of two different teams, you must draft them as individual members of the "tag team" portion of your team. IE: Marty Jannetty and Scotty Flamingo, would need to be two separate picks. Finally once all teams are decided, Captains may make trades from their team to another team, should someone want to do so. If you don't like your team for some reason, perhaps you can convince your opponents to trade you some members for some reason or another. This has never happened before, but the option is available and has been every year and just maybe there is a first time for everything. The Fine PrintThis topic will remain sticky at the top, and I ask that only captains respond to this post, any questions or the like be posted either in the Locker Room or via PM to me, not under this thread as I want to keep this the "official" SB topic without all the clutter of useless replies. Good luck, everyone! It should be noted that although this topic is being opened early, it may takes hours, or even DAYS to complete this process, so just sit back, enjoy and have fun. With that out of the way, let the 2018 EWA Super Brawl Draft begin! First pick goes to EWA World Heavyweight Champion, BROCK LESNAR!

We open to Brock Lesnar’s home in Minnesota. He’s sitting in a large chair in front of a roaring fireplace. As the fire blazes behind him, Sable can be seen just to the right of the fireplace, drinking a glass of wine. She’s decked to the nines, looking like she’s running late to a glamorous ball somewhere. But the only ball these two are going to is the biggest wrestling event of the year, SuperBrawl 18. The World Champion turns to the cameras, as the fire crackles and spits behind him.BROCK LESNAR: SuperBrawl. The 18th incarnation. Pretty impressive isn’t it? But not as impressive as the year I’ve had. As the title reign I’ve had. As the rouse I pulled on all you morons within in the EWA. Brock sits up a bit in his chair, thinking back to how he took the EWA on a journey.BROCK LESNAR: And why would I care what you people thought? Because SuperBrawl is a time when you have to be absolutely ruthless. It’s not just about being the best. It’s about who can cut the most throats. Who can be the most devious. Edge showed that to me. A lesson I learned many years ago and I haven’t forgotten. This is in fact not the first time I have been at a SuperBrawl. It’s not even the first time I’ve defended the World Title in a SuperBrawl. And despite being screwed out of my championship at one memorable incarnation of this event, I have learned the ins and outs of SuperBrawl like few men before me. I have won a SuperBrawl before. I know just what it takes to evolve and outlast the rest. That’s why this year I’ve been planning for months. Looking at potential threats and well, neutralizing them. Lesnar has a smug grin on his face, while Sable begins cackling in the background. She can’t help but be amused at the carnage she caused Ken Shamrock, one of the other captains of this event. Shamrock has had one of his eyes nearly plucked from his skull.BROCK LESNAR: Ken Shamrock, I’m glad to see that you somehow managed to get into this match. Good for you. Because even with only one eye, I’m going to enjoy you trying your best to last in the match long enough to meet me, only to be eliminated by a ruthless tyrant, like the ones that will be placed on my team. This year, lots of you will be picking friends, picking fan favorites, picking men you know you can trust. But not me. I’m going to pick wrestlers who aren’t here to make friends or play nice, but to destroy everything in their path. Sable stands up and steps to the front. SABLE: And each and every pick will be more lethal than the last, I can assure you of that. BROCK LESNAR: And that is why my first draft pick is a man who’s ruthless, who doesn’t care who he hurts or what he does and has made it clear he’s not arriving to “save” the EWA or not looking to make amends for his past sins, but is here to BURN THE EWA down! SABLE: That’s right, Seth freakin’ Rollins is our first draft pick! He’s a man who doesn’t care about anything, has no allegiance and is willing to destroy anyone in his path. He’s not here to make friends or make those disgusting fans cheer his name, he’s here to set fire to the EWA and we’re all the more willing to watch it burn to the ground with him!

First Pick Team Sabin/Team Good Bois cameras cut away from the cozy lodge that Brock Lesnar and Sable call their home to a crowded record store in downtown Detroit called “Record Graveyard.” The song “Only Lad” by Oingo Boingo is playing over the store’s speakers. The store is swamped with people who keep walking and tripping over the EWA camera crew as they try to get to the discount bins or the register. The EWA National Champion doesn’t seem to notice the camera at first, instead contented with the New music bin and the vinyls he’s flipping through. His ankle is being supported by a thick brace and he has a set of crutches leaning against the bins. Finally Sabin turns to face the camera with an album in his hand. Chris Sabin: It’s been a weird year, right? You got the guest GM’s, you got Brock and Sable doing their weird thing, you’ve got a Frankenstein monster winning King of the Ring and now you have Superbrawl. I came here with no expectations and ended up getting named a captain of Superbrawl. That’s just me though. I don’t like to expect things… it keeps things interesting. Now I don’t have the tenure that some do and I don’t have the ruthless edge that others do either. For me, my life has always been about taking it easy, not thinking ahead, and living in the moment. That has its downsides too. See, I didn’t really think this would happen. So Brock and the others may have been planning for this all year, cutting deals or paying guys off or whatever is when you scheme things… but me? I’m just going to wing it. I’m going to roll the dice and play the game from there. Now I don’t know if any of my picks will necessarily like me or even respect me… these were just the names that seemed right when I thought about it. I think that’s how you should do it. Professional wrestling is a sport centered on emotion… not cold, calculating logic. So I picked from the heart and maybe that’s not smart… but more guts than brains, right? I’m at least on brand. The album in Chris Sabin’s hands is “My Aim is True” by Elvis Costello. The one song in particular on Sabin’s mind is “The Angels Wanna Wear My Red Shoes” which is about giving your life to something or someone that does not appreciate the level of your sacrifice, and especially, about the visceral feelings when the truth is recognized. The song reminded him of how his first pick must feel at times with the wrestling industry and the EWA as a whole. Chris Sabin: So my first pick is someone who was one of my bigger critics all year. A guy who repeatedly said that he didn’t understand how I got so many opportunities when I was failing to capitalize on them. He said that I was a choke artist and maybe accused the EWA of favoritism. Now I don’t know how me getting my ass kicked all year equals favoritism but it is what it is. I don’t really like to hold grudges. In fact the only guy who I really dislike and I can tell you beyond the shadow of a doubt that I will NOT be drafting is Jack Swagger. Regardless, he may not have had nice things to say about me… but that doesn’t bother me. See, we are a lot alike. We both try very hard and we both work very hard and sometimes that isn’t enough and things go wrong. When they go wrong we show our character… we show what kind of men we are… and we don’t stop. We never stop. We WILL never stop. My first pick is the “Solitary Reaper” Gabriel. Chris Sabin: Here’s the thing about Gabriel. I fought him… I know how tough he is and how bad he is. We were the final two competitors of Sin City Survival and that night I came out on top. Gabriel was the runner-up to King of the Ring and I know that burns him up too. That’s two times that he has seen the top of the mountain and I know that he’s pissed off and motivated to get to the peak. I like the dude. I think he’s going to be great. So yeah… welcome to the Good Boi’s. Chris winked at the cameras as it faded out.

From a busy Detroit record shop to the quiet isolation of nature’s beauty. A single EWA cameraman walks next to Ken Shamrock on the sandy shore of Lake Tahoe, California. In the distance is a small island, home to the famous Vikingsholm tower, a small castle built by an eccentric local millionaire for his beautiful wife nearly a century ago.
Shamrock is moving slowly. Two weeks removed from Lesnar’s brutal assault, Ken is still on the mend. Wearing a jet black eyepatch, viewers might wonder if the MMA legend has permanently lost his left eye. But we’re not here to find that out today. The unlikely Super Brawl captain speaks to the camera.SHAMROCK: I never set out to be a Super Brawl Captain when I joined the EWA. I came to this company with a list of people I wanted to beat. One by one I started crossing those names off the list. I beat Lashley, putting him in his place for good. You don’t see him hanging around much recently, do you? I ran afoul of Trevor Mann, or Ricochet, starting a legendary EWA rivalry that finally ended with me standing victorious. So then I set my sights on the man I’ve wanted to beat since the day I got her, Brock Lesnar. And I realized pretty quick that the Beast Incarnate is not invincible. I look at Brock Lesnar and I don’t see an unstoppable machine. I see real fear in his eyes. Ken stops and turns to look at the crystal clear water of Lake Tahoe. He takes a deep breath before continuing.SHAMROCK: Brock Lesnar is afraid of me. It’s plain and simple. It’s why he conspired with Sable to manipulate and the entire EWA in an effort to eliminate me. Brock Lesnar is afraid of what I can do to him when the odds are fair. One on one, I am the better fighter. But we don’t get fair shots in professional wrestling. The EWA isn’t a vacuum. Each captain has their inherent strengths and weaknesses. It’s up to me, the veteran, to make the kind of draft picks that insure I can and will destroy Brock Lesnar and walk out of Super Brawl as Champion. Ken turns back to the camera and makes his pick.SHAMROCK: This is war. Plain and simple. Brock Lesnar is a beast? Well I’m bringing along a monster. A monster among men… BRAUN STROWMAN! SHAMROCK: ….but even Strowman comes with his own baggage. When you get the Monster, the Stallion rides along. Some may say this man is a liability, but I see him as a secret weapon. I also draft...SANTINO MARELLA! SHAMROCK: This is no joke. With these men on Team Shamrock, we are unstoppable! Ken crosses his arms and stares at the camera with his one good eye.

The scene cuts to Power Plus Gym in West Newbury Massachusetts inside the Proving Grounds area where Cena does a lot of in ring training. The official Super Brawl banner hangs on the wall behind the ring which features Brock Lesnar and tells what day and time the show will take place. The ring today is set up with a red carpet leading from the doorway to the ring itself and the seats are full of people who have come to John Cena’s Super Brawl Draft party. Suddenly Basic Thuganomics plays on the stereo system in the gym and John Cena opens the door and makes his way into the gym. He is wearing a Michael Jordan Chicago Bulls jersey with Bulls hat to match it and his trusty chain around his neck. Cena high fives the fans who have bought tickets to the event as he makes his way down to the ring and slides under the bottom rope. John approaches the microphone and begins his speech. JOHN CENA: I want to thank you all for coming out to the draft party today. As you can see we have gone all out here at Power Plus Gym for this party because you, the fans deserve this just as much as I do. If it wasn’t for the support of this city and my fans I might not be where I am today. So from the bottom of my heart I want to thank each and every one of you. The fans in attendance give a roaring applause to Cena. John puts his hand up and waves as he smiles at the reception he is getting from his hometown fans. JOHN CENA: Today, I have made the selections for my Super Brawl team, but I want some people who are very important in my life to be the ones who announce those selections. So without further ado here is my dad to announce the first pick for team Cena. Tony Cena makes his way into the ring to a big round of applause from the local fans. He approaches the mic as he pats his chest and points to the crowd. TONY CENA: Thank you all for the ovation and thank you all for coming out for this wonderful occasion. It has been a long and winding road to get to this Super Brawl and their have been plenty of ups and downs for John and myself. I thank you all for standing with us through everything. But enough about that, let’s here who the first pick to Team Cena will be!!! A gym volunteer takes an envelope and passes it to Tony Cena in the ring. Tony opens it and gets a big wide smile on his face.
TONY CENA: An excellent number one pick son. I see you took my advice. Ladies and gentlemen, the first pick to Team Cena is someone who you should all be familiar with. It is a man that has been through battles with John Cena in the past and he is a man who’s sheer stature keeps him from being someone that you can push around. Let’s hear it for the world’s largest athlete…..The Big Show.
The fans in attendance roar their approval as John Cena steps up to the mic again. JOHN CENA: For me the first pick was simple, Big Show brings chemistry to the team and I know what I’m getting from him. Brock Lesnar said something earlier about picking our friends and people we can trust but he wouldn’t be doing that. To that I say this, if you trust a bunch of men who have their own agenda in mind it can lead to your downfall. I don’t want to draft someone who I think is going to turn on this team at the drop of a hat. So to you Lesnar, we’ll see who has the better strategy on the 16th of December but I like mine better than yours. My first pick is in so now if the other three teams want some, come get some.

Brock Lesnar is standing in front of the fireplace from earlier, the flames nearly licking his body as he has a confident, but still somewhat stoic look on his face. No one would have expected Lesnar to choose Seth Rollins as his first pick, but Rollins and Brock are old associates in the Conglomerate and it’s easy to forget that Brock would rather go with someone he knows than an unknown, unproven entity.BROCK LESNAR: And so here we go. Our second pick. A chance to put in a workhorse and set the stage for something greater. You know, since I went with Rollins, a lot of people have speculated that perhaps a Conglomerate reunion was in the works. But I’m not the kind of guy to look to the past, only the future, I want to win after all. The EWA World Champion takes a step forward.BROCK LESNAR: But that doesn’t mean that we can’t learn from our history. And it doesn’t mean we can’t build from the past either. And that is why for my second pick, I’m going with a man who has some years on him. A veteran and a ring general. Someone who has seen it all and felt it all. Sable is walking around in the background. Almost pacing. Not nervously, but with a purpose. Like she is motivated and ready to get on with this.BROCK LESNAR: Ken Shamrock you’re hardly the only man who’s made a return this year and made waves. In fact, there’s another man who has done just that, but on a grander scale in my view. The man who has proven he still loves a good fight and exactly the kind of guy I want tearing it up in the middle of the Superbrawl match this year. That man, is from Ireland and that man, will defy the odds as he’s done time and time again. From career ending injuries that he’s come back from, to moments when people were certain he was going to be retired. You see, I want balance to my team. I have a young gun, a guy with a total upside like Rollins… But I also need a guy who has nothing to lose. Let’s face it, this man is coming into this war knowing it’ll likely be his last. Sable leans over to Brock saying something to him closely. SABLE: Are you sure about this? BROCK LESNAR: Oh as I’ve ever been, Rena. The second man to join my team is a fighter for decades. He’s a warrior who knows what it’s like to bleed and sweat and endure. That man is… FINLAY! SABLE: The world may have counted Finlay out, but we know Finlay is going to do damage in this thing. He proved this past week that he’s just as good a fighter as any of the modern “greats” like Scurll and at King of the Ring, it was his move that ultimately led to Gabriel losing in the main event. That’s the kind of guy we want. One who even after he’s eliminated, will leave lingering bodily injury on the rest of the combatants. BROCK LESNAR: Seth Rollins, Fit Finlay… Just you wait and see who is next.

Second and Third Picks Team Sabin/Team Good Bois The cameras cut away from the cozy Lesnar lodge and back to the Detroit record store for a second time. The song song on the store’s speakers is “Human Fly” by Akron, Ohio legends the Cramps. The slow, methodical guitar picking of Poison Ivy matches the overall mood of the store now that the rush has died down. Sabin has a small basket laying next to his crutches which is progressively getting fuller as the day goes on. One member of the EWA crew coughs and grabs Sabin’s attention. Finally Sabin turns to face the camera with a different album in his hand. Chris Sabin: So Brock is picking a bunch dudes who are brutal fighters, Shamrock is picking a bunch of dudes to whip Brock’s ass, Cena picked his buddy, and me? I picked a dude who took me to the limit at Sin City Survival and came close to winning King of the Ring. To be honest though, am I getting the vibe that me and Cena don’t really matter? I mean Brock and Shamrock are only focusing on each other and that just seems a bit… I dunno… rude? Well, I guess the only thing me and Cena can do is put together teams that are going to swipe the whole Superbrawl out from under their noses. Boy… my second and third picks? I’ve got some real bangers here. Chris held up the album in his hands for the camera to see. It’s the Complete Regent Recordings of Johnny Hartman. Johnny never got his due. He’d sing his beautiful songs about heartache, alienation, and isolation and then chainsmoke himself to sleep when the lights went off. “Why Was I Born?” and “I Fall In Love Too Easily” were staples in the world of heartache blues with the only many to stand a chance in that fight being the immortal Sam Cooke. His second and third draft picks hadn’t been given their due either. Chris Sabin: For my second and third picks, I don’t think it’s going to be a surprise for anyone… I choose the current reigning and defending EWA World Tag Team Champions Chris Hero and Cesaro - The Kings of Wrestling. Chris Sabin: To be honest… I have no idea how we went so far into the draft without picking the EWA World Tag Team Champions. If I were honest, I’d have to question everyone else's’ thinking here. You want a dominant tag team presence in your team, how do you overlook the guys who have been holding the division down since August?! Cesaro and Hero know how to work in a team environment, they know how to get dirty, and they know how to win. Most importantly, they did what no one else… including me… couldn’t do and that’s take the belts off of OVE. Plus we won our titles on the same show… so if any of the champions were going to be on the same team it should be the three of us. Kings of Wrestling? How about Kings of Good Bois? Chris blows the camera a kiss before putting his record with the rest of the others he’s been perusing.

The crowd at Power Plus Gym is in a frenzy now as they are discussing the picks that have come in for all the teams. The fans are impressed with the other teams and their choices but they are more impressed with the pick of Big Show by the hometown hero. The crowd starts to quiet down as they see John Cena hit the ring with a smile on his face. JOHN CENA: My first pick was someone that I can totally trust. The Big Show and I have a chemistry in the ring that the rest of the first round and second round guys don’t have with their captains. That is so important and I think that the other captains have ignored that at their own peril. I also agree with what Sabin said, it seems like Shamrock and Lesnar are just thinking of their own battle and not of the bigger picture. We are in this thing and both of our teams are a threat to eliminate Shamrock and Brock in this match. Having said that, I had to choose my next pick wisely, as the pick I was about to make got picked up by Sabin in the Kings of Wrestling. So I had to dig deep and I found someone who can bring some veteran leadership to this team. And here to announce my pick is the one and only mayor of West Newbury Massachusetts Tom Fitzpatrick. The patrons stand up and clap as Tom Fitzpatrick approaches the microphone and waves to all the people. The mayor adjusts the microphone as we see John Cena in the background checking his cell phone with a big smile on his face before putting it away to pay attention to the mayor. TOM FITZPATRICK: Good evening West Newbury Massachusetts and John Cena fans alike. I’m honored to be able to take part in this event. John is one of our most distinguished celebrities in West Newbury and the fact that he was chosen as a captain for EWA’s Super Brawl is a very big deal for all of us. I speak for everyone when I say we are proud of you John. But you good people didn’t come here to hear me talk, so let’s have that pick and see who is going to join John Cena on the way to victory. Just then the good mayor turns around and takes the second envelope as he opens it and looks at who John Cena picked. TOM FITZPATRICK: I think this is a very interesting pick indeed John. You were right when you picked Big Show because of the team chemistry between the two of you. Veteran leadership is important on any team and with this next pick he brings in a man who knows the ins and outs of the wrestling business very well. The next member of team Cena is....JERRY LYNN
John Cena approaches the microphone again.
JOHN CENA: Brock Lesnar made a pick earlier in Finlay that brought great veteran leadership to his team and the more I thought about that pick I figured it might be beneficial to bring some leadership to this team. Jerry Lynn has done so much in professional wrestling and he clearly still has the fire in his belly to achieve great things. Some will say this is a bad pick and time will tell but I stand by this pick and say Jerry Lynn's experience will do wonders for our team. So Lesnar, Shamrock and Sabin.....what's your next move because so far, You Can't See Me.

BROCK LESNAR: Thus far, things have went exactly as I predicted. I was telling Sable earlier this week that I fully expected each team to draft almost exactly as they have. Sabin would go with popular wrestlers, the champions, the easy choices. The guys he thinks he can trust. I’m sure they’ll have a cutesy name and go around with callouses on their back from so much patting each other there. SABLE: And you were right! Sable laughs, walking by in the background as Lesnar is speaking directly into the camera.BROCK LESNAR: I knew that Shamrock would go with the heavy hitters, the men who call themselves badasses, but like Shamrock himself, spend as much time telling everyone about how they’re a badass and not near enough time proving it. The EWA World Champion cracks his knuckles and then tightens his fist.BROCK LESNAR: And I told her from the moment I saw Cena, that he would pick his only friend, the Big Show and then it was like throwing darts on a dartboard. Anyone with any name value would end up on his team. Granted, I wasn’t expecting him to go to such depths, but still I’m not entirely surprised. Sable chimes in from the background again. SABLE: Let’s hope they can knock the mothballs off Jerry Lynn! BROCK LESNAR: But me? I’ve been very calculating in my selections. Men who have been here and done things, men who are still hungry, men who know what it takes to be the best and are willing to sacrifice everything to do it. Which leaves me to my fourth pick. You see, I’ve got a great wrestler in Seth Rollins. He’s as dexterous as anyone who’s ever been in this business. Quick, versatile and smart. Young, fearless and bold. SABLE: Not too bad on the eyes, either. BROCK LESNAR: Rena, please… Sable laughs as the EWA Champion more or less rolls his eyes.BROCK LESNAR: And I’ve gotten an old fighter. A man who was in battle before half of my opponents were even born. A man who’s seen everything and damn near done everything! He’s no spring chicken, but that also means he’s not afraid to die in battle. He doesn’t have hopes and dreams ahead of him. He just has the fight. And SuperBrawl, it could be his last fight, it sure as hell will be his last opportunity to compete at this level. And he’s fighting for a purpose. He has to achieve a certain goal, for himself, his family, his son, his legacy… Brock stops and looks stone cold into the camera.BROCK LESNAR: But what I also need is a wrecking ball! A blunt object to hit others over the head with. Something that can be used against my opponents and someone who has no choice in the matter. He isn’t good or bad, he just IS. And that’s why I’ve went with THEM and I’ve chosen… WALTER!

Ken Shamrock is seated on a large log near a roaring bonfire. He’s on the same beach on the Lake Tahoe shore where we saw him previously. A few feet away from the fire, Ken’s camping tent is pitched. It’s obvious Ken is out here enjoying some time in the wilderness. Instead of an unlucky EWA cameraman stuck out here, Ken has set up his iPhone on a stump with a small tripod to livestream his next draft pick.SHAMROCK: I’ve had an interesting point of view on this whole draft. I took an unconventional approach and used my first pick to secure two of my team members in one move. Others might criticize not choosing the World Tag Team Champions, but to me there is something to be said for putting my faith in two men with nothing to lose and everything to prove. Braun Strowman is a monster, but he’s only just begun to show the world what he’s capable of. Santino Marella is a seasoned fighter who many don’t take seriously enough. Forget his accent and his escapades, the Italian Stallion is a dangerous man to add to Team Shamrock. Ken takes a sip from a flask. He cringes a bit as a swallows the hard liquor. He leans over and tosses another log on the fire before speaking again.SHAMROCK: I might be out here in the wilderness, but I kept up with what’s going on with the other captains. Brock Lesnar is as big a fool as he’s ever been. He looks at his draft picks from the perspective of “what can these men do for me?” But being a captain takes more then picking the top prospects. Seth Rollins made a lot of noise when he returned last week. He did exactly what dozens of men before him have done. He came back a couple weeks before Super Brawl with a lot of hype, securing a spot he doesn’t deserve. And that thick blockhead Brock Lesnar fell for it like an idiot. Then he chose Finlay and WALTER. Individually, these seem like great picks. But in the end, what can Lesnar do to bring his team together as a cohesive unit? There is no way The Fighting Irishman will let Lesnar boss him around, and WALTER is too much of a wildcard to count on. What does Lesnar do if THEY don’t want to cooperate? Ken takes another swig from his flask. He stares at the flames in front of him as he pauses for a moment. He continues to speak.SHAMROCK: Kudos to Chris Sabin for taking a measured approach in his draft picks. But if he thinks I’m ignoring him because of my desire to beat the living hell out of Lesnar, then he’s dead wrong. I’m well aware of what Sabin can do. Hell, he was the last man standing at Sin City Survival and secured a victory for OUR team. So, I’ve got respect for the man, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to sit back and give him an easy path to victory. Every guy on his team has an obsession with proving that they’re the best. Sabin wants to elevate the National Title to the top of the EWA. Gabriel is OBSESSED with getting his due, and the Kings of Wrestling have let their title reign inflate their egos. Put down the belts and quit talking about your accomplishments, because when it comes to Super Brawl it’s all about how to perform on that night. The fight is all that matters! Ken pokes at the fire with a long stick, stirring the embers and causing the flames to rise higher. He speaks again.SHAMROCK: John Cena’s the charity case. He had a nice run earlier this year, but I can’t help but think Sgt. Slaughter felt bad Cena lost his Super Brawl spot last year. But I’m not going to hold that against the guy. Cena’s a hard working son of a bitch, and I know he’ll make the most out of this shot. I don’t blame the guy from drafting his buddy Big Show. Good thing I locked up a giant half his age and twice as strong. And Jerry Lynn has a long EWA pedigree, so props to John Cena for getting a little creative in how he’s going to build his team. Too bad he picked the short straw, leaving him with little to pick from in his last round. John Cena’s team has some firepower, but it’s just not going to be enough. Ken turns and looks directly at the camera, focused and ready to make his pick.SHAMROCK: So where does that leave me? I know I need to do something drastic with this last pick. This last pick needs to be shocking. I need a fighter I can trust more than anyone. A full contact fighter who knows exactly how to dismantle and destroy anyone he faces in the ring. So I looked back at my long career and thought about all the men I’ve face off against. I thought long and hard about who it was going to take to give our team the extra edge. Team Shamrock needs the only man who I know can take me to the limit. I’ve known this man for over thirty years. My next draft pick will make his EWA debut fighting for Team Shamrock. He is known as “The Legend”. I draft my brother… FRANK SHAMROCK! Ken smiles and nods his head as the scene cuts out.

The people are still a buzz about John Cena taking Jerry Lynn at the viewing party in Power Plus Gym but have noticed that co owner Greg Reaves has now taken to the microphone as John Cena shakes his hand when he enters the ring and Greg begins to speak.GREG REAVES: I appreciate having such a great business partner like you John. I can assure all the members of this Super Brawl team that they have a great partner and leader in John Cena and I have no doubt he will lead you to victory. John smiles at the kind words from his co owner at the gym as Greg takes the envelope and starts to open it for the next pick. His eyes widen as he sees who John Cena has picked next to be on his team. GREG REAVES: The next pick for Team Cena is none other than…. John Cena stops Greg and pulls him to the side as he whispers something in his ear. Greg agrees and pats John on the back as Cena now steps up to the mic himself. JOHN CENA: I had to do this one myself but it doesn’t diminish how much you have mean’t to me Greg. The next member of Team Cena is someone I teamed with briefly back in 2017 but this dude had my back through thick and thin before I got injured and our career paths took us in different directions. Sometimes a reunion is a sweet thing. Maybe some would say this pick is JUST...TOO...SWEET!!! That’s right, the next member is none other than Kenny Omega!
The fans start to chant “TOO SWEET” as the image of Kenny Omega is displayed on the screen. John Cena holds his hands up and begins to explain his pick. JOHN CENA:Brock Lesnar, you think you have it all figured out. You think you picked my brain before this started but you had no idea I would take Kenny Omega I bet. In fact I can imagine right now you are throwing things in your home in Minneapolis while cursing at Sable. Don’t worry Brock, the end of your championship reign will be coming at the hands of this team. I heard what Shamrock said about my team being on the short end of the stick and Sgt. Slaughter feeling sorry for me because I missed this event last year. I didn’t ask for his pity or yours, I was simply given an opportunity to take the spotlight. An opportunity to grab the brass ring at Super Brawl and my team and I are going to do just that. JOHN CENA: I admire the work you have done with your team as well Chris Sabin. You have some real guys that can go in the ring but you too will fall just short on the night of Super Brawl. When I take my former tag partner and Bullet Club brother Kenny Omega and the rest of the guys I have drafted and we steal the show on December 16th that will be too sweet.
John Cena takes the backwards Chicago Bulls hat off now and rubs his head as he thinks to himself for a moment as if he is reminiscing.
JOHN CENA: I guess what they say really is true. Things really do come full circle in this business and something else they say must be true as well. Bullet Club is FOR LIFE!!!
The fans stand up and cheer as they are fired up to see John Cena’s team compete at Super Brawl but one member remains to be drafted. The alternate.

SABLE: Are you sure about this? Sableleans in closely to her husband, obviously concerned about something.BROCK LESNAR: As sure as anyone could be in this spot. I need to shake things up. Keep everyone on their toes and this, does just that. SABLE: But he’s unpredictable. The EWA World Champion nods.BROCK LESNAR: Exactly what this team needs. I want people who are hungry. Devious. Willing to sacrifice to get what they want. He can do that. I need someone who has been there and done things. There are few men who are more capable in that regard. Sable shakes her head. SABLE: Yes, but will he be ready? Will he even accept the call? BROCK LESNAR: He’s an alternate and as far as I’m concerned, I’ve assembled a team so powerful, we won’t need it. SABLE: But if you do? BROCK LESNAR: Rena, if I do need him, then he’ll be there. I have faith. Just as faith came to me a couple of years ago. No one had seen or heard from me in ages, but the opportunity for SuperBrawl came up and I jumped at it. Making myself known and making my intentions clear. I know that if this man is given the opportunity, he will make the most of it. It's not his first time and if history is any indication, it won't be his last. When a chance comes to him, he'll glimmer in the spotlight. Sable nods in agreement.BROCK LESNAR: And he’ll do just that. I’m certain of it. Brock turns to the camera.BROCK LESNAR: As they say all that glitters is gold and in my pursuit of a golden reality, I’m reminded of an old quote for Mae West, the famous movie actress from the 1930s…. “Those who are easily shocked should be shocked more often.” It’s time we shock people and that’s why my alternate pick is... BROCK LESNAR: The one and only, GOLDUST!

Alternate Pick Team Sabin/Team Good Bois The cameras cut away from the cozy Lesnar lodge and back to the Detroit record store for the last time. The store is starting to close up for the night and the store’s customers are heading to the check-out lines and the door. Knowing his crutches would make it difficult to maneuver around the crowds Chris decided to hang back. “Wake Bake Skate” by FIDLAR was playing over the speakers. The bouncy melody of the song about getting fucked up and skating despite being broke was enough to bob Chris’ head along with the beat. Chris Sabin: All good things come to an end, right? This is going to be my last pick and then the race begins. So far, I gotta say that I’m really pleasantly surprised by how well things have turned out. Team Good Boi’s is looking pretty solid. We got ourselves Detroit’s Finest Good Boi, the Solitary Good Boi, and the Kings of Good Boi’s. That’s not a bad little team there. So… when it came time to pick my alternate I kinda got stuck. When I think of an alternate, I think of something really unexpected that no one was thinking. Clearly Brock had that idea too when he picked Goldust. So, I got to thinking… how can I make things weird. I had some ideas… some things that could rub people the wrong way… and I dunno, man. The weirdest thing happened... I had someone reach out to me. Chris reached over to the stack of records he was preparing to buy and flipped over the one on top to reveal “The Dream is Over” by PUP. The Canadian based punk band were loud, aggressive, and the listener’s face with blunt lyrics that cut the bullshit. The song “Familiar Patterns” reminded Chris of the wrestling business as a whole. His pick is… well… a guy who may know better but somehow always seemed to get mixed up in things like this. Chris Sabin: He kinda claimed to be a big deal around these parts in the past. I wasn’t too sure but he swore that he was doing me a favor by offering his services. He said he’s won some titles and even won a Superbrawl before. I… uhh… didn’t really fact check any of that so maybe it’s true. Anyway, he seemed like he really wanted to be a part of Superbrawl because he said he tries to wrestle at least one match per year and this could be his last chance. All he wants is just one… more… match. Chris Sabin: The last pick of Team Good Boi’s is Christian. So, Cap’n… let’s make some magic happen. Captain Good Boi is our alternate. Chris waves at the camera before beginning to hobble to the check-out counter.

It’s now morning at Vikingsholm. The sun is rising, throwing a warm golden glow over the shoreline. The campfire is now just reduced to embers. Packing up his camping gear, Ken Shamrock walks around his makeshift campsite. Like the night before, he has his phone camera running, capturing footage of him. It’s now time to make the final choice for Team Shamrock, the alternate. Shamrock’s not looking right at the camera, but he speaks k knowing that someone is watching.SHAMROCK: I guess this is where I make the wildcard choice, right? The Super Brawl alternate spot is normally reserved for some returning EWA legend or a captain’s buddy who just doesn’t quite make the cut for the main team. It’s an important spot, but it’s more of an insurance policy. Historically, the alternate only factors into the Super Brawl match once every couple of years. Ken rolls up some of his gear and starts to stuff it into a large pack. He use his strong arms to force the backpack shut, cinching it closed and clasping the top of the pack.SHAMROCK: So what’s my plan? I’ll be honest, I’ve been so busy convincing my little brother to come out of retirement that the alternate’s spot was a bit of an afterthought. But I have still given it some thought. I knew that in this spot, I wanted someone who was ruthless, a little bit crazy and with nothing to lose. Why’s that? Because God forbid he needs to step into Super Brawl match, I want him to hit the ground running. But really, I want a dangerous son of a bitch who is hungry for a fight. They’ve got to be ready to tear things up in the alternate’s match, but also give Team Shamrock some back up in the big match. I don’t trust that Sable and her minions are going to play things fair, so I’m bringing along someone who can add a little muscle to the fight. He’s got our backs. Ken reaches for one last item to put in his pack. Shamrock reaches for a large bowie knife, similar to the one his next draft pick would carry. He smiles and hooks the knife with a strap on the outside of his pack.SHAMROCK: A few months back, Brock Lesnar went on a little trip through the Bayou. He was lucky my next draft pick wasn’t in the mood then for a fight, because I bet he was watching Lesnar, ready to send him running back to civilization. Well now he’s got a chance to teach Brock Lesnar and his team a lesson. You don’t mess with the Bayou Bully. With my final pick, I draft...SKINNER! Ken shoulders his pack and walks over to the camera. He reaches down and clicks a button ending the feed..

A hush settles over the viewing party at Power Plus Gym as the other teams have chosen their alternates. The camera shows John and Tony Cena discussing something as they both lean confidently on the ring apron in front of the fans in attendance. Tony Cena then gets a phone call and paces back and forth as he is talking to someone clearly important. Tony says one last thing and then hands the phone to John Cena. John is talking intently to the person on the other line and then hangs up as he high fives his father and points at him as if to give him the credit for something. Cena now heads into the ring and up to the microphone.
JOHN CENA: Before I announce my alternate for this team I just want to say thank you to all the fans who came to the Super Brawl party here at Power Plus Gym. If you are gym members then thank you for that as well and if not please feel free to visit Greg at the front desk before leaving and we can get you hooked up with a sweet deal on a gym membership. The holidays are coming and everyone is going to be over eating I'm sure so we all need to keep ourselves in great shape.
John takes the microphone off the stand now and begins to walk around the ring gathering his thoughts.
JOHN CENA: So, team Lesnar went way off script and chose someone that nobody ever thought they would in Goldust. I must admit Brock, that is a very interesting and intelligent pick for an alternate. Goldust has a well documented history here in the EWA when it comes to Super Brawl so I can't same I blame you for taking him. I also have to echo the sentiments of Sable in a way, are you sure he wants to team with you? Are you even sure you can trust Goldust? If so then you might have a great alternate, but who knows what Goldie is even thinking most of the time. I mean look at the dude, he clearly marches to the beat of his own drum and from the looks of things, none of us can keep his beat. Goldust is a master of mind games, question is Brock, is he going to play you for a fool? I guess we will see at Super Brawl.
Cena walks to the other side of the ring and leans on the rope as he surveys the fans listening intently to him.
JOHN CENA: That brings me to Detroit's native son, Chris Sabin and his "Good Boi" team. I see you went with a man that wants one more shot at glory in the EWA in Christian. Much like I posed the question to Lesnar, can you really trust Christian to have your back when it comes down to it? Just because he wants another shot at glory, does he want it to be your glory or his glory? Christian also has a great history when it comes to Super Brawl but I hardly think he wants to take a backseat to you Chris Sabin. I guess you know what you're doing though.
Cena walks to the corner and props up on the turnbuckle as he now has a smile on his face.
JOHN CENA: Then of course we have Ken Shamrock. The most unstable man in all of EWA and his choice of an alternate pretty much proves that. He took the Bayou Bully himself Skinner as his alternate. Skinner is relatively new around here and is a real wildcard pick as Ken Shamrock continues to show his obsession to beat Brock Lesnar. Ken, no offense because I do respect you as an athlete, but your obsession to beat Brock has consumed you completely. It has consumed you to the point that you have made a total wild pick at alternate. Did you carefully consider this or did you just pick off the collar? Did your hatred for Lesnar cause you to reach for someone who may not benefit you? Only time will tell.
Cena now walks back to the middle of the ring and gets a serious look on his face now.
JOHN CENA: I took the picks of Goldust and Christian into thought when I made my selection. When two captains go out and get two EWA Hall of Famers to take part in this match you had better sit up and take notice. Then I see Ken Shamrock who is a very dangerous man himself pick someone who is possibly a very dangerous alternate in Skinner. So when I chose my alternate, I wanted someone who is a legend in EWA yet he is a total wildcard as well. Thanks to the help of my father we have found that man. Ladies and gentlemen, stand up and make some noise for the last pick of team Cena. The one, the only....Scotty Flamingo!
JOHN CENA: Just like Christian and Goldust, this man is legendary in EWA history. But also just like Skinner this man can be an absolute wildcard. Now that Team Cena is complete all I have to say to the rest of the captains is this, you had all better be ready for an absolute war on December 16th. We're coming in to win Super Brawl and I think I speak for the rest of my team when I say we will take no prisoners in this match. While Shamrock and Lesnar try to out do one another and Sabin tries to be a "Good Boi", my team will be busy kicking your asses and taking all the belts. It's going to be a great end to 2018 for me and my teammates. Word Life!
John Cena waves his hand in front of his face doing the you can't see me hand motion as the feed now goes black.
