Svengoolie Returns to All Hallow's Evil

San Diego, CA. - After a six year hiatus from EWA TV screens, famed Chicago horror host, Svengoolie will once again host the E-Wrestling Alliance annual Halloween themed pay-per-view event, All Hallow's Evil.

Svengoolie first hosted All Hallow's Evil in 2016, taking over for Elvira and then turning the mantle over to Joe Bob Briggs for the next few years before Elvira once again hosted the broadcast last year. EWA officials were able to come to terms with Svengoolie to host once more at perhaps the height of his fame.

“Svengoolie” has been a local Chicago TV staple for more than four decades; Weigel Broadcasting, which owns MeTV, added the character to its national lineup in 2011. In the past few years ratings for MeTV's national broadcast have went up exponentially during Saturday broadcasts of the tongue-in-cheek horror host's showings of classic genre films.

"I've long been a fan of pro wrestling," Svengoolie said about his participation in the event. "There's plenty of blood, mayhem and even the occasional mummy! It's not that much different than a classic Hammer horror picture."

Local television expert, Rich Koz, who has coincidentally closely followed Svengoolie's 43+ year career said that the return of Svengoolie for the event would likely increase viewership. "Digging up Sven again will probably bring a lot of extra eyeballs to the show. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Svengoolie has a pocket full of them himself!"

EWA Owner and General Manager Harry Smith is said to have been pleased to ink a deal with Svengoolie and expects many surprises and "spooky" things to happen on the show. "We love to celebrate Halloween in style, with our own particular brand of macabre and bringing Svengoolie and his trusty rubber chicken Kerwyn to the show is sure to make a few things go "bump in the night". Svengoolie has won an incredible eight Emmy Awards for his programs and I know he'll be a great host on this special night. He's become a household staple in the genre."

"I became an overnight success in about 43 years," Svengoolie quipped. "Believe me, I’ll take it. And having hosted this wrestling show once before and having done a few cameos when the other hosts were on, I pretty much know what NOT to do. Which is everything I've done before."

In addition to the appearance of Svengoolie, several matches have already been signed, including the marquee bout pitting Drew McIntyre against Kevin Owens for the EWA World Championship. More matches are expected to be confirmed in the following broadcasts of SLAM and EWA USA, the two flagship programs in the E-Wrestling Alliance broadcast schedule. The event will take place at the Salem State O’Keefe Center in Salem, Massachusetts, near where the famed "Salem Witch Trials" originated. All Hallow's Evil™ will be broadcast live on pay-per-view on Sunday October 30th, 2022.
