After an advertisement for the concept of traveling the cameras open up to the Post Slam Panel set that has been transformed into the Post Collision Course Panel set. The desk that all three hosts are seated at are draped in black and some of the monitors on the wall have been purposely smashed. The remaining monitors are airing various highlights from the pay-per-view. Renee Young and her two co-hosts smile for the cameras as it sweeps by them to capture the full scope of the set. As the camera settles to its static position, Renee clasps her hands together.
RENEE YOUNG: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Collision Course Post Show Panel! I’m your host Renee Young and joining me, as always, are the legendary icons of professional wrestling Eric Bischoff and Jim Ross. Guys, this has been a monumental night!
ERIC BISCHOFF: Any time the World Heavyweight title changes hands is a huge night, Renee.
JIM ROSS: You’re getting a little ahead of yourself, Eric! We’ve got a whole show to get through first!
RENEE YOUNG: Absolutely, Jim, so let’s get down to business. Collision Course started off hot as two second generation wrestlers locked up to see who could make the argument for having the most promising future: “Cowabunga” Colten Gunn versus Hook! Hook won the match but, more importantly, what did these two men show you in this match-up, Eric?
ERIC BISCHOFF: Well, as a former EWA General Manager, I have a keen eye for talent. Hook is the real deal. He’s been tapping out opponents ever since he arrived and Colten Gunn was no exception. He’s got his father’s ruthlessness, tenacity, and that “F” the world mentality. Colten Gunn is goof. Hook has his father in his corner and Colten is such a disappointment that Rico Constantino is in his corner and not his own father. That match went exactly as it should. I see another second generation wrestler in Hook’s future very soon and that’s the EWA Television Champion Rex Steiner.
JIM ROSS: You’re being incredibly dismissive of Colten, Eric. Yes, Hook trapped him in the Redrum but let’s not act like Hook wasn’t in any trouble during the match. This was not the standard match where Hook steamrolls his opponent. Gunn made him work for that victory and I saw a lot of his father in him while he had his own style. I’m not suggesting that Hook is dependent on his father, Eric, but just that Colten Gunn has no problem marching to the beat of his own drum. This was a tough loss for the youngster I’m sure, but he’s going to bounce back!
RENEE YOUNG: Well up next, guys, was our first of three title matches as Aliyah defended the EWA Women’s Championship against Alexa Bliss. Even with the numbers advantage on her side, Aliyah was able to overcome the thieving trickery of Team Bliss to successfully retain the EWA Women’s title. JR, would you say this was a statement win for Aliyah?
JIM ROSS: Absolutely, Renee. Everyone knows that the first title defense is the hardest and this is Aliyah’s third time in that particular rodeo. More particularly, this is about Aliyah finding some redemption for herself. I’m not going to be so bold to say that Aliyah and Alexa Bliss are identical twins but it wasn’t that long ago that Aliyah’s Boujee Brand wasn’t all that different from Team Bliss. Sure Aliyah didn’t have a hulking beast like Tyson Tomko at her disposal but she wasn’t above trickery to get the job done. We saw some real growth and maturity from Aliyah this weekend. She fought hard, dug down deep, and came away with the win. If anything, I hope Alexa Bliss learned a very valuable lesson that the best laid plans of mice and men often go wrong.
ERIC BISCHOFF: Jeeze, do they pay you by the word? If Alexa had hit the Twisted Bliss this match would have been over. Aliyah had the title match experience to know when to roll out of the way. What a statement! Aliyah, the ultimate opportunist, took advantage of one small mistake by the challenger and got the win. Also, I’m glad we all agree that Aliyah is no saint. She used the numbers advantage in the past, she took shortcuts in the past, and lucky for her that karma didn’t come back to bite her in the butt. Also, Jim, the only lesson that Alexa Bliss is probably going to come away from this is that she needs to be more mean, more volatile, and more violent!
RENEE YOUNG: Speaking of violence, how wild was the No Disqualification match between Chris Masters and Shark Boy? What started as a Masterlock Challenge turned into a match that saw fire extinguishers, cotton candy, popcorn, plungers, and a brawl in the bathroom! Ultimately it wasn’t a weapon that decided this match, though, as Chris Masters’ Masterlock continues to prove to be unbreakable. This one is definitely an early contender for stipulation match of the year!
ERIC BISCHOFF: You know, Renee, the older I get the more I hate hardcore, no disqualification, street fights, and all that other violent crap. My favorite part of this match? It was decided by a wrestling move. No flaming table, barbed wire glass tables, taipai deathmatch, weedwhacker whatevers! That’s the kind of man Chris Masters is and the kind of man Shark Boy is. Chris Masters doesn’t need weapons to make his point in the EWA and the only way Shark Boy stood a chance in this fight was using all that junk you mentioned Renee. We talked about Hook lining up for title contention soon but I’m looking at someone like Chris Masters. Shark Boy and Serpentico couldn’t break the Masterlock but I wonder if someone with the size and brute strength of Rex Steiner can.
JIM ROSS: Do you just hate fun, Eric? Yes, Chris Masters won with the Masterlock but Shark Boy proved to be one tough son of a gun! Not only did he show a lot of intensity and piss and vinegar before the match started, he also didn’t back down from a much bigger and stronger opponent. You know what really impressed me? He didn’t give up and he didn’t tap. We’ve seen how painful that Masterlock is and yet Shark Boy didn’t stop fighting until his body gave up on him. I don’t know if this is the end of this bad blood between the two men but I think the ceiling is high for Shark Boy’s team with RVD.
RENEE YOUNG: You mentioned tag teams, JR, and that brings us to the Winner Takes All match between Shannon Moore and Jeff Hardy and the newly formed faction - the Decree. Guys, the stakes in this match were monumental as both the Decree and Shannon Moore put their titles on the line. This match was an absolute testimony to the heart and passion of Shannon Moore and Jeff Hardy but they weren’t able to overcome the numbers and underhandedness of the Decree. This is a game changer, guys. Not only do the Decree still have the tag team titles in their possession, but now Drew McIntyre is also the EWA National Champion.
JIM ROSS: This is one result that made me sick to my stomach. Shannon Moore fought and scraped and clawed his way through the EWA since returning in October. When things didn’t go his way he never complained. He just kept pushing forward and for his title reign to end in this manner is shameful. The EWA Official ejected all of the Decree from ringside and that slimy Rickey Shane Page still managed to make an impact in the end result. I know Shannon never complains but I feel like he has the rights to this time. I don’t think we’ve seen the end of this.
ERIC BISCHOFF: Why? The Decree didn’t make this challenge, Jim. Shannon Moore did. He’s the one who challenged Drew for the tag titles and he’s the one who put the National title up for grabs. Shannon has absolutely nothing to complain about. He knew the risks and now he has to deal with the consequences. What we’re not acknowledging is that Drew McIntyre made history tonight. Out of the twenty or so years that the EWA has been in operation, there have only been, what?, three or four men to hold more than one title simultaneously? Well Drew punched his ticket. The Decree is easily the best thing that has happened to him. He went from being the guy who couldn’t get it done to the guy that’s making history!
RENEE YOUNG: You just mentioned making history, Eric, but history was also made for Santino Marella as well as he finally won the big one and dethroned the seemingly unbeatable Chris Jericho. Jericho certainly made him work for it though. Santino had to overcome Soul Train Jones, Omos, and Y2J’s own underhanded tricks but the Italian Stallion is one tough son of a gun! Guys, a new World Champion is almost like a reset for the EWA Universe.
JIM ROSS: Absolutely, Renee. Chris Jericho held the EWA World Championship for 196 days. That’s the longest title anyone has held the title since Brock Lesnar’s second title reign back in 2018. Santino Marella has been on a tear in recent months since winning the King of the Ring and coming in second at Superbrawl. This just caps off what has been one impressive streak for him. More importantly, this officially makes Santino one of the most accomplished athletes in the EWA’s history. Is there anything Santino can’t do?
ERIC BISCHOFF: Well we’re about to find out if he can defend the EWA World title. Santino has been a champion in the EWA but that’s not the same as being THE champion. Chris Jericho was capable of holding the title for so long because he’s the GOAT. Santino has been on a hot streak. Well, ask Shannon Moore. Those hotstreaks can come to an end.
RENEE YOUNG: Well, guys, like I was saying early, there is a lot of excitement in the EWA right now. Between our second generation talents like Rex Steiner, Hook, and Colten Gunn, returning stars like Bo Dallas, emerging tag teams, and a stacked women’s division… I feel like this is the strongest the EWA has been in years. That all being said, it’s time to look back into the EFN Vault for our Classic Match of the Week! This week we’re going back to May 27th, 2018 to the main event of the Mayhem pay-per-view. We mentioned Brock Lesnar’s 231 day title reign earlier and that dominance was in full display as he faced Heidenreich!
EWA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
SINGLES MATCH
BROCK LESNAR (C) vs. HEIDENREICH
60 MIN. TIME LIMIT
There are three women at ringside. Sable as always is in the corner of the EWA World Champion, while Heidenreich is flanked by Lindsay Hayward and Becca Swanson. There’s no Linda Miles at ringside, or Richard Blood, but it seems pretty obvious that Hayward and Swanson are here in Blood’s stead. Brock Lesnar doesn’t seem too interested either way, but it gives Heidenreich a boost of confidence as he plays up to the Ohio crowd. Lesnar and Heidenreich go right at it. There’s not a wasted breath as these two powerhouses start trading shots back and forth. Heidenreich tries to whip the World Champion to the turnbuckles but Lesnar spins around and clocks him with a big right instead. Now it’s Lesnar who bulls Jon into the buckles and starts to unleash his devastating shoulder thrusts to the midsection. He only gets about four thrusts to the gut when Heidenreich nails him with a knee lift to the gut and a pair of forearms to the back. Now the challenger raises his knee up again this time with a blunt force knee to the face! Brock Lesnar staggers out of the corner holding his head as Heidenreich builds up a head of steam and charges out of the corner with a big clothesline to take the EWA Champion off his feet!
BOOKER T: Look at da power!
DON WEST: He rocked Lesnar there!
SCOTT STANFORD: Heidenreich is a big man, he might be stronger than Lesnar or if nothing else is one of the only men in the EWA who can match strength with him!
Brock looks a bit caught off guard by that raw power from Heidenreich. Sable shouts something to Brock on the outside, but as he tries to get to his feet Jon kicks him back down. Heidenreich starts stomping away, putting the boots to Lesnar in short succession. He pulls Brock up to his feet hoisting him up into a back breaker across the knee. Lesnar flips to the mat holding his spine as Heidenreich starts pounding big forearm smashes across the back. Heidenreich now lifts Lesnar up and throws him back first into the turnbuckles. He holds him there before pulling him back out and shoving him into them again. Brock’s whole body smashes against the buckles. Not satisfied, Heidenreich pulls him out and smashes him back first into the buckles a third time! Now the challenger pulls the champion from the buckles with a big short-arm clothesline! Heidenreich raises his arms high as Richard Blood looks on rather pleased and Sable looks concerned for the EWA World Champion. Brock pulls himself up to his feet, holding his back as Heidenreich rams into him with a shoulder block. He then clubs Lesnar in the back a few times and grabs him around the throat. He lifts him up into a double arm choke as the Referee warns him about the choke. He chokes the life out of the champion for literally as long as he is legally allowed before dropping down into a double arm sit out chokeslam!!! He holds it for the cover, …1, ….2, SHOULDER UP!
BOOKER T: CLOSE ONE DERE DAWG!
SCOTT STANFORD: Brock looks a bit shook up, I think those repeated shots the back may have weakened him.
DON WEST: We have no idea what condition he’s in. While he won Civil War, that match had to take a toll on his body and it might still be causing some issues even now.
Heidenreich can’t believe the EWA Champion is still in this but he lifts Brock back up and hoists him into another basic backbreaker. This time keeping Brock bent over his knee and trying to hold it as a submission. The Referee checks in but Lesnar isn’t going to give it up and finally struggles his way free. Heidenreich charges into him with his boot raised but Lesnar catches his head on into a modified STO! Lesnar takes a couple of moments to recover, trying to get his wits back about him. As Heidenreich starts to stand, Brock grabs him with a collar and elbow tie-up. Lesnar pulls Heidenreich into a headlock, that The Reich quickly reverses by pushing him into the ropes. Lesnar returns and ducks under a clothesline. He bounces off the ropes and ducks under another clothesline from Heidenreich before knocking him to the mat with a forearm smash. The Reich climbs back up to his feet and Lesnar barges into him, both men spilling to the canvas! Both men get back to their feet this time Heidenreich ducks under a clothesline from Lesnar and comes back off the ropes with a running back elbow that drops the EWA World Champion. Lesnar quickly gets to his feet and blocks a right hand from The Reich. He grabs the arm of Heidenreich and whips him into the ropes and drills him with powerslam as he turns around. Lesnar makes the cover, ….1, …..2, SHOULDER UP! Lesnar is undeterred and quickly grabs ahold of Jon’s head and puts him in a sleeper choke hold. He’s trying to choke Heidenreich out! The Reich fights up to his feet and breaks the hold with a couple of elbow shots to the mid-section. Heidenreich turns around and lifts Brock up for a reverse atomic drop. Lesnar gets slammed down on his feet and falls back into the ropes. Heidenreich charges forward and catches him with a big boot that sends Lesnar over the ropes and to the outside floor!
DON WEST: INCREDIBLE POWER!
SCOTT STANFORD: That absolutely floored the EWA World Champion!
DON WEST: Heidenreich is it to win this thing!
Heidenreich rolls out of the ring and stomps away on the EWA Champion. Hayward helps Heidenreich as they start moving ringside mats. He pulls off the padding, revealing the concrete. He catches Lesnar with a couple of right hands before bringing him in for a powerbomb. This could do it! He’s going to powerbomb him on the exposed concrete! NO! Lesnar counters and lifts Heidenreich over his head with a back body drop in the opposite direction of the concrete. After a moment of struggle, the Referee moves in to count both men out. Lesnar starts unleashing heavy fists to the face of Heidenreich, unloading on him with the full force of his wrath. Heidenreich catches Lesnar with a thumb jab to the eye. Brock growls, rubbing at the eye and finding his focus compromised. Heidenreich immediately gets up, clutching his chest while rushing towards his opponent. The Reich’s arms looking for a grapple, but he's caught with a belly to belly overhead suplex onto the exposed concrete by Lesnar! Heidenreich lands with a sickening thud, as his whole body arches up in agony. Lesnar staggers over to the steel steps, grabbing them up and unhinging them from the ring. Sable laughs with glee as Lesnar walks over and SLAMS THE STEPS down across the back of the challenger with an audible CLANG! The Referee is insisting they get back into the ring or he’s going to throw this match out. Lesnar brings Heidenreich back to his feet and rolls him into the ring. Lesnar jumps onto the apron and heads inside as the crowd get louder.
BOOKER T: LIGHTS OUT FOR HARAMBE!
DON WEST: He nearly smashed his head in with those steps! And do you hear that Stanford? These people love it!
SCOTT STANFORD: I think we’ve seen here tonight that this Ohio crowd loves a good fight.
The Referee admonishes Lesnar, who doesn’t seem to hear a word of it, lifting Heidenreich up and bringing him into the corner with more heavy leather punches. He drills him with some hook punches and then brings him into the middle of the ring with another big belly to belly suplex! Brock hooks the leg, ….1, …..2, ……KICKOUT! Lesnar hoists the big Heidenreich up and then latches onto his head into a huge overhead suplex.
DON WEST: Just look at the power of Brock Lesnar!
SCOTT STANFORD: He really is impressive.
Lesnar now with some forearms to the back and then he shoves Heidenreich into the turnbuckles. He starts stabbing his shoulder into the gut, a bit of payback for the abuse that Heidenreich gave him in the corner earlier. He caps it off with a big uppercut that seems to have floored the 6’8” challenger. Lesnar yells out as both men separate. Brock rubs at his eye, clearly having trouble seeing through it still. Both men tie up as Heidenreich gets to his feet, only for Lesnar to pull The Reich into a headlock, then whip him to the canvas with a takedown while squeezing his head. After several seconds of holding him down, Heidenreich starts to fight his way to a standing base, Lesnar rising with him, only for Brock to release the hold, slipping behind to lock on a full nelson. He holds that for a moment, but Heidenreich does a backwards headbutt catching Brock in the face. Lesnar holds his eye and Heidenreich now slips behind him grabbing him into a full nelson, up into a full nelson slam!
DON WEST: That could do it!
SCOTT STANFORD: Explosive power from Heidenreich!
BOOKER T: Scrambled his eggs!
Heidenreich now signals and waits for Brock to stand, grabbing him by the throat… CHOKESLAM! The Reich quickly makes the cover, …1, ….2, ……NO! Lesnar escapes. Heidenreich knees him in the gut and then grabs him… He raises an eyebrow. ROCK BOTTOM! Or Reich Bottom, if you will. That stuns the EWA World Champion and he turns him over lifting him up, high into the air, POWERBOMB! NO! Lesnar rams a few fists to the face and then hops down behind him. Heidenreich turns around and Brock boots him in the gut. POWERBOMB BY LESNAR! He hooks the leg, …1, ….2, …..2.99999! Heidenreich gets the shoulder up just in time. He was nearly put down by his own move. Brock pulls him up to his feet again and slugs him a few times. Lesnar goes to whip him into the ropes, but Heidenreich responds with a big boot! Brock is still vertical, so Reich charges in, but Heidenreich gets caught and Lesnar lifts him up, NO Heidenreich kicks his legs and flips Lesnar upside down… TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER! That’s got to do it! Heidenreich covers, ….1, ……2, ……KICKOUT! Heidenreich can’t believe it. He hoists the EWA World Champion back up and places him on his shoulders. F-5 TO BROCK LESNAR! Turnabout is fair play as Lesnar just got his own finisher delivered to him. Reich hooks the leg, ….1, …..2, …..2.9999! Lesnar gets the shoulder just barely up. Heidenreich signals it’s time for the powerbomb once more. He grabs Lesnar and puts his head between his legs, but Sable is up on the apron. Hayward grabs Sable as Swanson comes over and they have her. Heidenreich is shaking his finger as if to say “no, no, no” to Sable. He rolls outside and looks like he might just deck her. But Lesnar is back up and outside too and charges into Heidenreich sending him crashing into all three ladies! Brock hoists Heidenreich up… F-5 INTO THE STEEL POST! He sends Jon Heidenreich’s head crashing right into the post! The crowd gasp, as Lesnar then rolls a limp Heidenreich into the ring and crawls on top, as the Referee counts, ….1, …..2, ……..3!
WINNER
BROCK LESNAR
18:45 via Pinfall
RENEE YOUNG: Wow! A F5 into the ring post! It’s been almost four years and I can’t get over how brutal that is!
JIM ROSS: The good lord certainly broke the mold when he made Brock Lesnar.
ERIC BISCHOFF: Thankfully for the rest of us and our continued health!
RENEE YOUNG: Well fans we have a lot of big matches coming up for EWA USA this week as Rex Steiner makes his first defense of the EWA Television Championship against Team Bliss’ Alex Shelley!
JIM ROSS: That’s right, Renee. Rex wants to prove he’s a fighting champion and he’s the one who put out the challenge to Shelley!
ERIC BISCHOFF: Which may be his downfall. I don’t know if anyone has bothered to inform Steiner that Alex Shelley holds the record for longest EWA Television Championship reign at 193 days. He may be handing Shelley and Team Bliss an opportunity to break his own record.
RENEE YOUNG: Also on the card we have a non-title match between EWA Women’s Champion Aliyah and Dakota Kai, Team Taz’s Rhea Ripley gets an opportunity to face Team Bliss’ Alexa Bliss, the in-ring debut of the Decree’s Rickey Shane Page, “Cowboy” James Storm in action, and more!
RENEE YOUNG: That’s not all fans! In two weeks we will also see a big marquee tag team encounter between unlikely partners Liv Morgan and Taya Valkyrie as they face Jade Cargill and her mentor Jazz!
JIM ROSS: This is a match that the Championship Committee has to have their eyes on. Taya, Liv, and Jade all have an argument to be the next woman to challenge Aliyah for the EWA Women’s Championship - that is once they settle this disagreement between them.
ERIC BISCHOFF: Disagreement? Jim, Jade and Jazz humiliated Liv and Taya on Slam a few weeks ago. This is their opportunity to get some payback!
RENEE YOUNG: There are a couple of other bouts that have been scheduled as well as the Worldwide Underground have challenged the Worst to a rematch from a few weeks ago and the Gentlemen’s Club resident intergalactic alien Kris Statlander goes one on one with the icy Lady Frost! Make sure you tune into all of this and more but for now - we’re out of time! Goodbye!
