Biography:
For nearly two decades now, KENTA has dominated the wrestling scene in Japan at every possible level. From competing in Pro Wrestling NOAH and carrying the company through some very turbulent times, to standing toe-to-toe with some of the greatest athletes in the world in New Japan Pro Wrestling - KENTA has proven time and time again that he is damn near untouchable between the ropes. A deadly precise striker, an innovative technician, and at times an underhanded scumbag - KENTA is able to adapt to any situation, as evident by his illustrious Championship cabinet and his accolade-list that is seemingly a mile long. And yet, even with all those accomplishments, KENTA has always been one of professional wrestling's biggest "what if" stories.
Years ago, when many felt that KENTA had done all there was to do in Japan, he set his sights on the United States of America, wanting to prove that he wasn't just the best athlete in Japan, but in the World. After securing a contract with a major organization, KENTA relocated to the US and re-dedicated himself to the sport that he loves so dearly. But despite his ability to adapt to any situation, KENTA's run in the United States of America wasn't what anyone had anticipated for one of the sport's hottest commodities. You can blame it bad luck and bad timing with injuries, you can blame it on the "athletes" around him, or you can blame it on bad creative - but KENTA's initial run in the United States did NOT go according to plan. KENTA had gone from having plans to capture the World Heavyweight Championship to doing anything possible to simply stay on the radar. KENTA had gone on record as saying that he felt like a deadly snake that was defanged.
Exercising a clause in his contract, KENTA managed to free himself from the ties that bound him, and he quickly returned to Japan and reclaimed his spot at the top of the food chain. Again, "The Black Sun" had shook the wrestling world to it's very core. Within months, KENTA was challenging for Championships and fighting towards the top of every card and it certainly seemed that he was poised to finish his career in his native Japan.
At least that was the case until Don Callis got involved....
