As promised by EWA CEO Harry Smith at Summer Stampede, the EWA is immersing itself in a tag team tournament as we bolster the tag division over the course of the next few weeks. That all starts with the unique EWA Tag Team Wrestling Tournament leading into our next pay-per-view Final Four. 8 teams will battle it out on SLAM, starting this week with The Mighty Don't Kneel versus The Butcher & The Blade, and the four winning teams will go to Chattanooga, Tennessee on pay-per-view and compete in the FINAL FOUR fourway match. A mystery team has been announced for the tournament, and will be revealed soon but is part of the mysterious unknown faction that debuted on Summer Stampede. Likewise, this Sunday on SLAM there is a 3 way battle for the EWA World Tag Team Titles, with the Dogs of War defending against the New Freebirds as well as Power & Glory. Whoever does not walk away with the titles on Sunday, will enter the tournament in the final two slots. Final Four will not be just a traditional fourway match, but will have some unique stipulations to be announced in the weeks ahead. Whatever team walks out of Final Four the winner, will then get a EWA World Tag Team Championship match on the October 11th episode of Sunday Night SLAM. Below is the brackets as they currently stand heading into this Sunday's episode of SLAM and the first round...
