San Diego, CA. - Proving once again that “the drive-in will never die,” iconic horror host and exploitation movie aficionado Joe Bob Briggs is set to serve as "host" of the upcoming E-Wrestling Alliance pay-per-view broadcast of All Hallow's Evil.
Following in the footsteps of other genre hosts such as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, and Svengoolie, Briggs will bring his unique brand of humor, critique and homespun commentary on the production set to take place in Briggs' home state of Texas.
Acclaimed author, critic and television personality Joe Bob Briggs first rose to fame over two decades ago as the host of The Movie Channel's Drive-In Theater and MonsterVision on TNT. Recently he returned to the airwaves on Shudder with The Last Drive-In which consists of weekly double features streaming live every Friday night at 9:00 p.m ET/ 6:00 p.m. PT. He'll now list wrestling personality to his long resume.
"Wrestling has as rich a history in Texas as drive-in theaters and chainsaw massacres," Briggs said about his participation in the event. "I'm excited to see what the night brings and it's certainly not the first time I've seen buckets of blood, rednecks and half naked women. I call that a Saturday night."
When questioned what he had planned for the event, the horror host replied, "I'm bringing the mobile home, Darcy the Mail Girl and the whole "Drive-In" experience to the EWA. It'll be a night in Amarillo, you won't forget."
There is at least one more surprise expected for EWA's upcoming October spectacular. This in addition to the highly anticipated Texas Death match between EWA World Champion Pete Dunne and challenger Marty Scurll. As well as the appearance of Texas wrestling legend, Dory Funk Jr. Stars expected to be on the card include Buh Buh Dudley, The Briscoes, JoJo, Charlotte Flair and many others. All Hallow's Evil™ will be broadcast live on pay-per-view on Sunday October 27th, 2019.
