This is EWA Wrestleline. The only official news and rumors of the E-Wrestling Alliance, reported and verified by EWA insiders. The stories here are broke down into two categories. News, which has gotten official confirmation and comment from the EWA Headquarters in San Diego, CA and Rumors, which have been told to us by those with inside EWA knowledge, but has not been commented on publicly by the company.
- EWA Officials were said to be somewhat shocked and disappointed by the lack of feedback on this past week's SLAM from Nippon Budokan in Chiyoda, Japan. Ratings were said to be quite good, with EWA's audience being bigger than it has been in years, leading officials to speculate why no one seemed to care.
- Tokyo SOS will take place this Sunday, with several surprises already planned and a great card of international action. This is one of the first crossover events in EWA history, with many international talents getting a chance to shine on the EWA stage.
- Roman Reigns' agent abruptly left the company this week, leading some to believe the Reigns is done with the company. Others think that Reigns may be back in some capacity, but the rest of the Samoan clan are not expected to return.
- There was consideration for a couple of different tag teams to have the post match spot that ultimately was occupied by The Revival on Sunday. The belief was that inserting a new team into the mix would quickly allow for some of the newcomers to get some heat and participate on a bigger level.
- It took quite a lot of work to get Minoru Suzuki on board to face Ken Shamrock at Tokyo SOS. Apparently Shamrock really wanted the match, while Suzuki has been off and on in regards to accepting. The two have a long history which was summarized in a recent EWA exclusive: Here
- EWA has continued to hire new talent. So much so that there has been some debate on bringing back a second program. The recent Fury "special" also led to some believing that this may happen, but as of right now EWA does not intend to expand its broadcasting commitments.
- EWA was honored at the Okayama Prefecture this past week after several EWA superstars performed a community meet and greet.
- Sasha Banks was actually scheduled to wrestle this past week on SLAM, but her match was cut due to time shortages. This happened to another wrestler a few weeks back. EWA management wasn't happy about it, but sometimes things have to be cut to meet broadcast regulations.
- Another AMA is in the works and should be announced sometime after Tokyo SOS.
- All of the workers at YaYa MATO are said to have purchased tickets for Tokyo SOS and will be wearing special yoga pants in support of their founder as he competes for the World Tag Titles on Sunday.
- Former EWA wrestler Sonjay Dutt reportedly married longtime EWA fan, Superfan Basel in a quiet ceremony in Las Vegas this past weekend.
- Todd Grisham is undefeated in checkers backstage at EWA events. Despite this accomplishment, he still can't win the love of his father.
- The Eagle's Nest Orphanage is said to be having a fundraiser to help pay off debts. Luchasaurus has the young orphans washing cars, sewing shoes and doing door-to-door candy bar sales.
- Several EWA stars were kicked out of the world famous Ribera Steakhouse for not paying their bill.
- Booker T has been approached by the Oscar Meyer Weiner company to use his likeness for a new product tentatively called, "Booker's Dogs, Dawg". No word yet on if he’ll take them up on the offer.
- Newt can confirm he will do the next EWA podcast.
