This is EWA Wrestleline. The only official news and rumors of the E-Wrestling Alliance, reported and verified by EWA insiders. The stories here are broke down into two categories. News, which has gotten official confirmation and comment from the EWA Headquarters in San Diego, CA and Rumors, which have been told to us by those with inside EWA knowledge, but has not been commented on publicly by the company.
- EWA has officially hired several new backstage agents and talent scouts. They include, Dean Malenko, Ricky Morton, Robert Gibson (The Rock-n-Roll Express) and Tully Blanchard. It's being said that Blanchard is there to help with promos, Malenko with match planning and the Rock-n-Roll Express with tag team scouting. Malenko started two weeks ago, with Blanchard, Morton and Gibson expected to start any day now.
- Several wrestlers have been officially released, including Bayley, Dakota Kai, Sonya Deville, Mustafa Ali, Rob Van Dam, Velveteen Dream, Billie Kay, Peyton Royce (The IIconics) and Nikki Cross. Many of those wrestlers haven't been used since the new year, but technically still had contracts with the company.
- Sasha Banks has impressed several officials backstage. Many in EWA are looking forward to her debut and believe she could be a great addition to the women's roster.
- The live event touring schedule for July will be revealed soon. EWA is expected to tour a specific region soon, although officials wouldn't confirm just where the company is heading yet.
- Harry Smith has been at all of the recent SLAM tapings, but has barely appeared on camera. This is by design as Smith wants to keep the focus off of him and on the wrestlers themselves.
- Jim Ross has been commended for his work with the Ross Report and may even get some features on other EWA broadcasts. It's believed that JR will not get a full time on-camera role, but may appear in some form.
- More vintage EWA results are expected to be added to the EWA Network soon.
- Skinner, who hasn't been seen in the EWA for some time is apparently recovering from a nasty opossum bite. It's said that he nearly bit the opossum in half.
- Dean Malenko is said to be adjusting to his backstage role well. Although he offered input on a recent Ding Dong match at a house show that sent one of the Dongs screaming and running.
- Several former EWA World Champions and "legends" have been pitched for return stories in recent weeks. Apparently none of them will come to fruition, which angered some veterans.
- There are several thousand unsold nWo shirts at the EWA warehouse. It's said they're being kept in case the group ever has a revival. Apparently one young entrepreneur suggested painting them blue and trying to pass them off as bWo knockoffs. But there are thousands of unsold bWo t-shirts in storage as well, so that wasn't seen as a realistic solution to the problem.
- Booker T has been approached by a vitamin company to license his likeness for a probiotic supplement. Early name suggestions include "Booker P's" and "Gut Spinaroonies". No word yet on what the final product will be called.
- When match writing, Newt prefers that the referee be referred to as Referee or Ref. Capitalizing as a proper name, while words like official be kept lower case.
